The Right Exposure

PTT is widely recognized as one of the most credible club programs in the northeastern United States. With 60+ PTT players placed in colleges nationally at the NCAA D1/D2/D3 levels since 2017, along with more than 7 million dollars in scholarships and merit funding awarded to these players and their families, our teams competed in front of over 650 college coaches in 2021.

SUCCESS STORY.

Sacred Heart University junior, Tyler Thomas, is one of the many PTT alumni success stories over the last several years. Tyler was among our most committed and engaged players, a great teammate, and focused on getting better at each and every club workout or practice. As a freshman, Thomas was selected to the NEC Division I All-Rookie Team and in 2020-2021, Tyler lead the NEC in scoring at 19+ points-per-game, earned All-Conference honors and was awarded the league’s Most Improved Player. A head of the 2021-2022 season, Thomas was honored as a Pre-Season Player of the Year.

“What they were getting, was first class coaching and preparation for the next level and that’s been the root of their success the last four years, and has allowed them to become one of the most credible programs in the area.”

—New England Recruiting Report

“An incredibly well coached group out of Connecticut, these guys will will be ready to execute, compete, and play hard! They’ll look to add to their impressive list of alumni as well.”

—The Hoop Group

Club Season FAQ’s

How many teams, what levels, and when will the squads be selected?

In 2021, we’re excited to field competitive boys teams at the 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U levels. All squads will be selected by Sunday, April 4th, and club practice will start Tuesday, April 6th. All practices and workouts are held at either Choate Rosemary Hall or the Parks & Recreation Complex in Wallingford, CT.

What apparel is provided or expected to be worn at events and in practice?

New Balance Basketball and PTT recently agreed to a strategic partnership, making PTT one of the country’s first, and Connecticut’s only, New Balance WE GOT NOW premier clubs. At all events, our teams will wear New Balance apparel (sneakers not included). During practice or any other workout, players are allowed to wear their own gear.

What does a typical club season look like; what’s the time commitment?

Spring and Summer seasons consist of two practices weekly; 4 to 5 competitive and widely recognized exposure events (per club season). Typically, 8 events in total across both seasons. Several weekend events require that we travel outside of New England including a Saturday night stay (no air travel and younger teams will likely travel less than our older groups). Each season (Spring & Summer) lasts approximately 8 weeks and the 2021 club season will be discussed in more detail at spring tryouts.

Is there a registration fee to join Project Triple Threat (PTT) basketball club?

Yes, Project Triple Threat (PTT) is a registration-based basketball club. However, we take a lot of pride in making any and all registration fees reasonable. We also don’t like turning away any aspiring players passionate about basketball, team sports, a growth mindset, player and personal development, etc. To this end, we make every effort to try and work with all club participants and their respective families to establish a workable and feasible situation.

What’s our philosophy and approach to coaching club basketball?

ESPN scout, New England Recruiting Report founder and nationally recognized recruiting analyst, Adam Finkelstein, summed up our coaching philosophy and approach in a few recent testimonials about PTT and our staff: “…What they were getting though, was first class coaching and preparation for the next level and that’s been the root of their success the last four years, and has allowed them to become one of the most credible programs in the area…PTT is a program that has prided itself on producing and preparing college prospects, but doing it in the framework of a highly competitive team concept.”

Will ongoing Covid-19 guidelines be followed at practice and events?

Yes, all participants should be aware that ongoing state and federal Covid-19 (Coronavirus) protocol will be followed and strictly enforced. In addition, each player or respective parent or guardian will be required to submit a signed Covid-19 “Assumption of Risk” participation form prior to competing. This form will be emailed to those who RSVP’d for open tryouts in the lead up (we’ll also have extra copies of this form onsite).
