It's About Your Culture.

The programs that consistently succeed have a well-defined culture.  Here are several great quotes from the publication Coaching Management on culture by a few coaching notables including Christopher Newport University Head Coach, John Krikorian, who happens to be one of my former college coaches and the head 2016 Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year Award.

"My definition of culture is pretty simple.  It's how you conduct yourself on and off the court, how you approach practice, and how you respond to adversity. I like to use the term 'selfless service' when I speak of culture."
-Don Showalter, USA Basketball 17U Jr. National Coach

"Culture is the foundation of coaching, and its much more important than the Xs and Os.  A culture exists whether you do anything about it or not.  As a leader, you want to define the culture and have it be a reflection of your values."
-John Krikorian, Christopher Newport University Head Coach

"It is a tough process to accumulate people who fit the culture you want but will also give you the talent you need to win at a high level. Anybody can have a good team, but not everybody has a good program."
-Matt Painter, Purdue University Head Coach
